It’s less than three weeks to opening day of the 185th Columbia County Fair! Time to make your list of must-see and must-do among the new shows and attractions and old favorites.There will be plenty to please everyone along with some special touches to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the USA.

New this year is your chance to enter your vehicle in the Street Truck Pull on Wednesday, September 2 from 6-9PM. Entry is just $20 per person and anyone age 18 and over with a valid driver’s license can participate. Cash prizes will be awarded in 4 classes. 6 and 8 cylinder trucks with stock engine and equipment must be insured, registered, and inspected. Additional rules are available online on our website.

Keep your eyes peeled for the flying dogs! Former Detroit Tigers pitcher Milt Wilcox brings his Ultimate Air Dogs show to this year’s Fair in a show sponsored by Diamante Pools and Majestic Pools. Check out the competition Thursday through Monday at 1PM, 4PM, and 7PM, adjacent to the Pavilion.

Bethlehem Traditional Irish Dancers will be taking the Northgate Stage on Saturday at 1pm. If you love Irish culture, music, and dance you won’t want to miss this seasoned troupe’s first-ever appearance at the Columbia County Fair.

As ever, a wide variety of music will fill the air every day. Country star Jerrod Niemann headlines at the Grandstand on Sunday at 4PM. Fans of local talent will find their favorites returning – Jarrod, Side Show Willie, and Beer Stained Fiddle – as well as a new band, The Beaks, who will join the roster with their mixture of rock, pop, and folk. The Joe Adee Band will perform both Saturday and Sunday. Allen and Azzaam, Acoustic Rye, and October Rose are also back by popular demand.

The nation’s 250th birthday is a year-long celebration and we’ll be all dressed up in red, white, and blue. Join us and wave a flag at Saturday’s Firefighters Parade. Play the special-edition Bingo game and keep an eye out for the Uncle Sam Stiltwalker! A spectacular fireworks show will light up the skies Wednesday at 9PM to kick things off.

The 185th Columbia County Fair is located off Route 66 in Chatham, New York.  Opening day is Wednesday, September 2, at noon. The Fair – “always runs over Labor Day”, and concludes on Monday, September 7. General Admission is $15 and includes parking and all entertainment.  Daily hours are Wednesday: noon to closing, Thursday – Monday: 10AM – closing.  Seniors Day and Youth Day is Wednesday with special pricing at $5.00 for ALL patrons.  Youth under 19 and active military with ID or in uniform are admitted free that day. Children 12 and under are always free.

Advance tickets are $13 per single day admission and are available online and at the Fair Administration Office until September 1. Advance tickets will also be available for purchase July 1- September 1 at all Bank of Greene County branch offices. There are no advance tickets for Wednesday, September 2.

Special pre-sale one-day unlimited noon to closing Ride Passes are available at $25 per day, a savings of $5 when purchased online. Regular one-day noon to closing Ride Passes are available on the grounds during the Fair at the Magic Money ride ticket machines near the Ferris Wheel. Cost is $30 per day.
