Fair Scholarship Programs
New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs Scholarship
Ten scholarships are awarded annually by the New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs. These scholarships will be awarded to current New York State high school seniors or to students presently enrolled in college. The qualifying students must have been active at the county fair in any capacity. Application information is available from the guidance office at any school in Columbia County, through the Fair office in Chatham, or on the State Fair Association website. All applications to be submitted must be completed using the Google form available at www.nyfairs.org and mailed or emailed to the Columbia County Fair at info@columbiafair.com by April 1 to meet the state deadline for consideration.
Columbia County Agricultural Society Scholarship
The Columbia County Agricultural Society offers a scholarship program to reward the participation of all youth who contribute to our annual County Fair by supporting their futures after high school. $1000 merit scholarship will be awarded each year to students who have been active in the Columbia County Fair as an exhibitor, presenter, volunteer, Talent Show participant, or in some other capacity.
Applicants must be be completing their senior year at any high school in 2025. Enrollment in a college or trade school in any field is required. Applicants must describe their next-step plans following graduation in their application essay and provide references that confirm their eligibility.

Such a great Fair every year. This year 2021 was my First year back since I was in elementary school which was decades back. You all worked so hard and did a wonderful job I’ll continue coming back every year.

Definitely the best county fair I have ever been to! The tree-lined grounds are lovely. A nice mix of attractions and exhibits with phenomenal entertainment; well worth the price of admission.
