Fun Competitions, Prize-Winning Exhibits, and More Await Fairgoers

One of the joys of the annual Columbia County Fair is seeing the talents of traditional skilled artisans as well as creative masters of the off-beat showcased in a wide variety of exhibits and competitions. Everything from Scarecrows to Sunflowers are on display.

Check out the beautiful work in the Wool Booth and the quilts on display in the Octagon Building. Or swing by the Upcycled garments where creative minds transform used items to create new wearable accessories and  houseware items – the results are sure to amaze you! The handwork proudly submitted under the Domestic Arts and Crafts banner are among the items contributed by generations of Fairgoers  – think canned goods, artwork, flowers, pies, biscuits, muffins, cupcakes, and candy. Don’t miss the always-lovely photographs submitted by photographers of all ages. And the newly-refurbished School House will be brimming with work submitted by students across the county. See who will be chosen to receive Columbia County Fair Artist Awards.

The Amateur Craft Beer, Wine, and Cider Contest takes place the weekend before the Fair, as does the Cookie Contest (this year’s cookie is Chocolate Chip!)

Entrants work all year creating their masterpieces. Come have a look and be inspired!
